Rooming

How does rooming work?

On international tours, participants stay in multiple-bedded rooms, usually with two or three beds depending on destination and tour type. Group leaders will put together a rooming list for all participants prior to departure. Participants have the option to upgrade to a single room, for a supplemental fee. Additionally, in destinations where tour accommodations are based on either triples or quads, a double room supplement will apply to anyone looking to room with only one other person. This supplement is standard for those 23 and older on tours based on triples and quads. Group leaders are guaranteed the comfort and privacy of a single room when they have at least six participants in their group. On cruises and overnight ferries, rooming may differ. Any rooming upgrades can be made at registration or by contacting accounts@acis.com.

Can a parent and their child share a room during a tour?

Yes, so long as the group leader is ok with this rooming situation.  As most trips are based on triple rooms, there is a cost for both the minor traveler and parent to share a room called the Double room supplement.  We do need both travelers to confirm in writing the name of their requested roommate/family member which can be done by emailing us at: Accounts@acis.com

All rooming requests must be submitted in writing prior to 90 days before departure.

Is it possible for an adult to book a triple room?

Yes, we can allow an adult in a triple room. We would require each person who wishes to be in that triple room to submit that request and name their two roommates in an email and we can note each file.  That email should be submitted to Accounts@acis.com

While possible, we do not recommend three adults share a room due to much smaller room sizes overseas. Three adults and their luggage make for a tight squeeze. For a parent, or parents, looking to go on tour and stay with their child, or children, this arrangement is likely suitable.

All rooming requests must be submitted in writing prior to 90 days before departure.

Do you offer Single rooms on tour?

We do offer single rooms for an additional cost per night, where available. You can select this option when registering for a trip, or if you wish to upgrade to one later on, you can send us an email request at: Accounts@acis.com. . This option is geared towards adult travelers.  If you are a minor requesting a single room, further discussion with the group leader will be necessary before finalizing this arrangement.

All rooming requests must be submitted in writing prior to 90 days before departure
